About the Graduate Program
The Valmet International Graduate Program starts in September 2022 and will give you a broad understanding of Valmet tissue technology, as well as many opportunities for personal development. As a Valmet Graduate Trainee, you will go through an exciting program for 12 months, combining theoretical learnings, practical experience, and personal growth.
You will be employed in our Tissue Mills Technology unit in Karlstad / Sweden. During this international program you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of fields in Karlstad and in one other Tissue unit in the world.
Entering the program, you will begin in and be connected to the Global Technology department in Karlstad. Along the program you will continue gaining broad experience working from Research and Development to delivery of our projects including Mill Engineering, and Reference management where we analyze data from customer user phase and of course, create a valuable network of contacts in and outside Sweden.
This program is designed to give you the best possibility to continue your career with focus on sustainability in general and the environmental footprint of our technology after the 12 months program. You will get to know Valmet and its key technologies and will also have elements of the program tailor made for you, which will support your next position.

Who are you?
Besides your academic merits you are a technology lover with passion for sustainability and efficient use of resources such as energy, water and raw materials. You know that you reach the best results with communication and working together as a team. You have a strong interest in taking on new challenges together with new people and are eager to develop yourself.
You are fluent in English and knowledge of any other language is an advantage in our global company.
To qualify for the Valmet International Graduate Program, you have completed your Master’s degree in Engineering such as Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, most likely with a focus on energy and/or sustainability or similar before the program starts. You have a minimum of zero and maximum of two years of working experience post-graduation.
Valmet Tissue is world leading in technology for tissue making. We serve customers that make tissue products like kitchen towels, napkins, bath tissue, all the way from stock preparation to winding. We make sure they have equipment of the highest quality for a great tissue making process. We support our customers from initial planning to the project phase, through commissioning and start-up to continuous production. In other words, throughout the entire lifecycle of the tissue machine line.
