Innostep is an initiative to further develop Paper Province as an innovation platform. With the project, we want to increase attractiveness for innovative companies, new and old.
Innostep consists of several parts that will strengthen Värmland as a node in the forest bioeconomy. The major part is about establishing an international innovation competition to create an influx of new business ideas and attract the best talents in the area to Värmland.
We will also establish a stronger collaboration with the region’s new incubator, STING Bioeconomy, by, among other things, building a Scale-up Community. We see that Värmland has all the prerequisites to create a concept that is useful for both start-ups and established companies. The goal is to get companies to stay, create more start-ups, take advantage of the regional proximity between actors and the industry, and create a greater inflow of cases to STING Bioeconomy.
Within the framework of Innostep, we also want to make more efforts to increase the possibility of capital for companies in the early stages. We do this by examining and creating the conditions for an international fund.
