Matilda Iverlund appointed new CEO for Paper Province

Paper Province has recruited Matilda Iverlund as the new CEO. Matilda Iverlund brings experience from the forestry industry and looks forward to leading Paper Province into the future.

“We are delighted to have successfully recruited Matilda Iverlund after an extensive and rigorous search and selection process. She has a knack for turning ideas into tangible initiatives and possesses a strong commitment to society, which we believe will be a perfect fit for the CEO position,” says Anders Brolin, Chairman of the Board.

Matilda Iverlund joins from Billerud, where she has been involved in the launch of the world’s most modern cardboard machine, KM7. Currently, she is responsible for a programme office in a transformation programme focused on the North American cardboard market. Previously, she has worked at organisations such as Svenska Kraftnät and Lantmäteriet. Now, she steps into the role of CEO for Paper Province, the world’s leading forest bioeconomy cluster.

“Paper Province addresses many important issues where the forest plays a central role, both in the short and long term. I look forward to exploring these opportunities and getting to know the member companies and the staff. It will also be exciting to set the course for the future and ensure how we, as a cluster, can create the greatest societal benefit,” says Matilda Iverlund.

“With her extensive experience and ability to lead and develop businesses, both in the private and public sectors, Matilda will play a central role in strengthening Paper Province’s position as a pioneer in the circular bioeconomy. This year, the cluster celebrates its 25th anniversary, and Matilda will start her new job by celebrating this milestone together with the staff and member companies,” says Anders Brolin.

Paper Province’s 130 member companies work together with other stakeholders, such as regions, municipalities, and academia, to lead society into the future with the help of the forest. Anders Brolin and the rest of the board believe that Matilda Iverlund’s clear connection to the industry gives her a solid foundation to take this collaboration to the next level.

Matilda Iverlund will begin her new position on May 20, 2024.
