Paper Province is a world-leading business cluster in the forest-based bioeconomy. We are owned and operated by our 100+ member companies. Paper Province (also referred to as “we” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and this privacy policy explains how we do this.

The information collected is used to provide, deliver and improve our services to you as a member or visitor to our website and as a participant in events and meetings.

We may process personal data when we need to communicate with you in order to provide relevant information regarding news, business intelligence and invitations.

Our legitimate interests for this processing are to keep you informed of relevant information. If you do not wish to receive such communications, please email dataskydd@paperprovince.com. With regard to our emails, there is always an option to unsubscribe in each email.

What information do we collect?

You may directly or indirectly provide us with information about yourself in a variety of ways, such as when you visit our website or register for events and meetings, or as a subscriber to our newsletters.

We do not normally collect information relating to sensitive personal data. However, in connection with certain events where we provide refreshments, we may collect information about allergies. This information is only stored until the event is completed.

Who may have access to your personal data?

All our staff have access to the stored information. This is because all employees are involved in some form of communication with member companies and other stakeholders. In addition, consultants can access information, but they are only authorized to see the information they need to perform their tasks.

All IT operations are provided by Onestep IT AB. In cooperation with them, we have taken reasonable legal, technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data is handled securely and with an adequate level of protection. We have also entered into a data processing agreement with Onestep IT AB.

We will not sell or share your personal data with third parties unless we have your permission.

Where do we process your personal data?

We will mainly process your personal data in Sweden. If personal data is transferred to any country outside the EU/EEA, we will take steps to ensure that the personal data remains protected and also take the necessary steps to lawfully transfer the personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA.

How long do we keep your personal data?

Your personal data will only be kept for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We may retain some data for longer if necessary to comply with other legal requirements.

Your rights

Under current data protection legislation, you have the right to be informed about when and how we process your personal data. You also have the right, in certain cases, to access your personal data or have it rectified, moved or deleted.

Correction
You have the right to ask us to rectify your personal data if it is inaccurate. We are then obliged to correct your personal data without undue delay.

Extract
You have the right to receive information about what personal data we process about you (a so-called register extract). The request for such an extract must be made in writing and signed by you. Please note that we only disclose information that we know for certain belongs to you. We are also not allowed to disclose information that infringes someone else’s rights. You should send such a request to us by post. Mark the envelope “Dataskydd” and send it to: Paper Province, Sommargatan 101 A, 656 37 Karlstad. To be sure that the register extract is not sent to the wrong person, we will send them to your registered address.

Restriction
You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted, which means that we only process your personal data for certain specific purposes. We will restrict processing in the following cases: 1) if you claim that the personal data is inaccurate and we need time to verify the accuracy of the data. 2) you object to processing that we carry out. In this case, processing will be restricted until a balance has been struck between your reasons for objecting and our legitimate grounds. 3) If you believe that we should erase the personal data, but we are unable to do so for any reason.

Erasure
You have the right to have your personal data erased. We are obliged to delete the data if 1) the data is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, 2) the processing is based on your consent and you revoke the consent, 3) the processing is for direct marketing and you oppose the processing of the data, 4) you oppose personal data processing that takes place after a balance of interests and there are no legitimate reasons that outweigh your interest, 5) if the personal data has been processed illegally, 6) deletion is required to fulfill a legal obligation.
