Focus Industry aims to enhance the innovation capacity and transformation speed of the industrial sector in Northern Middle Sweden: Gävleborg, Dalarna and Värmland.
The manufacturing industry plays a vital role in the growth and development of the three regions of North Middle Sweden: Dalarna, Gävleborg and Värmland. It is a strong and socially important sector that employs over 50,000 people. Focus Industry is a joint initiative between the regions to consolidate and enhance the industry’s transformation towards sustainable development.
Focus Industry Spets is a project that aims to boosts Northern Central Sweden’s innovation capacity and attractiveness, with a focus on global and long-term business. It involves the development of sustainable services, products and processes that contribute to the carbon-neutral society. Renewable raw materials and digitalisation act as important enablers.
The target groups are small and medium-sized companies in the regions that have a well-developed organisation and ability to drive systematic and strategic development.
The project includes Paper Province, Dalarna Science Park, Sustainable Steel Region, RISE (Propell) and Sandbacka Science Park. Paper Province coordinates the work that is linked to forest bioeconomy.
