Industrial Symbiosis in Sweden

Paper Province recently participated in a big meeting about industrial symbiosis for Swedish actors. Companies, academia and public sector from large parts of the country gathered in Kungshamn to discuss how industrial symbiosis can continue to develop at both local and national level.

During two days in mid-September, Swedish actors who work with industrial symbiosis met. It was the initiative Swedish Industrial and Urban Symbiosis (SIUS), led by Linköping University, together with Sotenäs Symbios Center who invited to the meeting. The event was held in Kungshamn, where Sotenäs Symbios Center are located. The aim was to continue the work of mobilizing a national resource center and supporting the development of industrial symbiosis at the local level.

– It was two exciting days with many good discussions and study visits, says Magnus Persson, Innovation Advisor at Paper Province, who participated in the meeting together with Dag Hallén from Region Värmland.
