"Bioeconomy is the future"

Göran Persson, president of ThinkForest, which is a European forum working with identifying the best available expertise on issues regarding forest policy, can now be seen in a recent youtube clip advocating the bioeconomy as the solution to global climate change.

In the video he talks about how the forest “will play a tremendous role in combating climate change, and it already does. It’s not only a sink for carbon dioxide, it’s also about how to substitute concrete, steel, and other products with wood products”.

Persson also states that he is “convinced that we will solve the climate change issue, I’m convinced that we have the solution in new technology linked to biology. Bioeconomy is the future”.

At Paper Province we salute Göran Perssons statement and are looking forward to hearing what comes out of the COP21 Climate Talks in Paris on December 1st 2015.
